My name is Milly Johnson. I am a best-selling author and patron of Haworth Cat Rescue. Along with Haworth Cat Rescue supporters Katie and Sharon I am challenging 1000 of you to each raise £1000 towards the purchase of land and the building of a new rescue centre so that Haworth Cat Rescue can help many many more cats and their owners.
We would like to find 1000 people - or groups of people - who can each raise or donate £1000. Could you be part of something special? Can you step out of your comfort zone and help make a difference? Have you spare cash that you can donate towards the appeal?
Please read on, peruse our ideas and suggestions, check out our FAQs and nominate yourself as a Champion. Thank you!
I'm Katie, and I work at the vets where Haworth Cat Rescue bring most of the cats and kittens which come into their care. Over the years I've seen hundreds of cats and kittens coming into our surgery to be neutered and microchipped and to undergo other essential procedures.
I am determined to do my best to help Haworth Cat Rescue achieve their goal of building a new and bigger centre so that many many more cats and kittens can be helped, and given the chance they deserve.
Please support our campaign, and network amongst your friends so that our target is quickly reached. Thank you!
My name is Sharon and I've been a supporter of Haworth Cat Rescue since it was founded way back in 1992. Over the years I've seen Haworth Cat Rescue grow from a tiny charity run from a semi-detached house to a larger concern operating from a purpose-built, but small, centre and becoming a major player in cat rehoming in West Yorkshire and the nearby counties.
It's time now to move to the next level. Tenancy at the current site is measured in years now, not decades, and if we want to see Haworth Cat Rescue continue beyond those next few years, we need to step up to the mark and make a difference. One thousand people each raising one thousand pounds will start to make that difference. Thank you!
